The Arion Astir Palace is named after
an ancient lyrical poet who is said to have been rescued by
a dolphin after he wasthrown into the sea while travelling
from Sicily to Greece. It is the largest of the three units
at Vouliagmeni and was built on the highest point of the pine-grown
promontory, commanding a magnificent view from all three of
its storeys over Vouliagmeni Bay on one side and over the
yacht harbour and the Apollo Coast on the other. Its all-marble
reception area, bar and verandas give it a splendour that
makes the Arion a palace worthy of its name. Its luxury bungalows,
each with its own lawn and completely secluded from each other
and from the main building, overlook the private beach and
are within easy reach of the Club House restaurant, biult
on a small headland and specialising in delicious fresh seafood.
A live orchestra entertains dinner guests in the Grill restaurant
and the Bar 37 is an ideal spot for a light lunch and cold
drinks by the beach.
The Arion Astir Palace has always been a firm favourite
with organisers of multinational conventions, congresses and
incentives and has a higher promotion of bookings for such
functions than any luxury hotel in Greece.
