"Ikies" is a complex of ten luxurious
self-catering traditional houses and studios perched on the
edge of the caldera on the outskirts of the picturesque village
of Oia in the northern part of the island of Santorini.
Architecturally inspired by the age-old traditional local
houses which are carved out of pumice into the cliffs of the
caldera, they are designed to make the visitor feel at home.
The ten houses of the complex, each built on a separate level,
cascade down the caldera cliff reaching the pool level at
the bottom of the complex. Each apartment's private balcony,
affords spectacular views over the caldera towards the volcanic
islets and towards Oia itself. The balconies are furnished
with exterior use reclining futons, chaises longues, director's
chairs, and marble-topped tables from where our guests can
sip relaxing long drinks under their umbrellas while taking
in the view of the sunset.
The houses offer romantic privacy and are the ideal place
to unwind. Each house is furnished in the simple Cycladic
style and the decor respects local aesthetics, tradition and
colour.
